Survived Christmas!

Christmas is over for another year and there were no coeliac casualties. I hope you had a great day!

Lunch was at the sister-in-law's house. She kindly prepared a buffet of cold chicken, deli meats, prawns, smoked salmon, coleslaw (made with Kraft Coleslaw Dressing as it is gluten free), tabouli and gluten free bread from Aldi. All deli meats were labelled as gluten free. Dessert was all laden with gluten ie. tiramisu cake and gingerbread houses - so those were not options for the gluten sensitive. There was a coeliac friendly fruit platter on offer with juicy grapes, cherries, watermelon and strawberries. The weather was a warm 29 degrees so the cold buffet made for a nice relaxed meal.

My parents hosted Christmas dinner this year where everything on the menu was gluten free. Juicy turkey roast, ham, chicken schnitzel (gluten free breadcrumbs of course), roasted capsicum, carrots, broccoli and green beans glazed in olive oil and herbs, rice balls and meatloaf. Dessert was pavlova decorated with fresh strawberries and kiwi fruit. There are no pics of dessert as it was devoured too quickly!

We received a few homemade gift hampers (a favorite of mine!) with gluten free treats and other goodies.

Christmas is such a risky time for the gluten intolerant or Coeliac. Did you have a gluten free Christmas or did you accidentally ingest gluten?
